It's the Busy Cow Season My Friends!

Let's talk about this time of year and why we are so busy.

As you all know, we are a small practice with just one amazing doctor which means we can be limited on availability at the best of times. That being said, this time of year we are out in the field doing a lot of pregnancy checking and vaccinating of cattle which means that Dr Mares and her team are often up and out before daylight and getting home when it's dark multiple days a week. They do the hard physical work of taking care of your cattle needs and come back to work normal days of surgeries and consults during the week to take care of your smaller fuzzy friends.

Because of this, we are booking further out than normal for small animal consults and surgeries. Unless it is an emergency please expect a wait time of about 3-4 weeks on routine examination appointments. We are currently booking into February of 2024 for all canine spays, neuters, and all dentals. We are booking into December 2023 and January 2024 on Feline spays and neuters. We recommend scheduling your appointments as far in advance as you can!

We are able to get vaccination appointments in a lot sooner. We have most mornings with a technician available for vaccination appointments, except Thursdays. If the morning doesn't work for you, you are welcome to come to our open vaccination clinics which usually happen two Wednesday afternoons a month. Please keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for those dates! Our next ones are November 1st & 15th from 2-4pm.

Cattle season extends from about August to March, with the busiest time being at the end of the fall and early winter. We really appreciate your patience with us and our scheduling capabilities as well as your continued support and business for our little clinic! We couldn't do what we do without you all!

Until next time, stay happy and healthy out there and have a Happy Halloween!

Milo
